August 17th is the Independence Day of Indonesia and many Indonesian people celebrate it in different ways. The Indonesian community for interfaith and intercultural dialog Cinta Indonesia decided to do a campaign through social media. They wanted to spread a message about tolerating differences by encouraging people to take pictures with the hashtag #rangkulperbedaan (embrace differences) and upload it on Twitter and Instagram. Indonesia is a country with diverse cultures and religions and tolerance among the people is very important so there won't be any problems. This campaign is also a reminder for all of us that difference is something beautiful and we have to appreciate the differences in this country – and anywhere else.
This is one of many good ways that you can increase awareness. I hope that with this campaign, people can appreciate differences more. And not only tolerance about the difference between various cultures and religions, but also tolerance for HIV positive people, for example
