The name of the show we watched was Rumah Uya (Uya's House) and at first I thought that it was a talk show - they even had an audience in the studio. But it turns out that the 'talkshow' was about commoners who want to solve their problems. And you know what? Their problems were nothing major and even kind of ridiculous! These people were arguing and the audiences were 'boo-ing' them. And what’s even more ridiculous is that it aired on National Television!
People should discuss and argue about the real problems that Indonesia has to face, such as corruption, poverty, health -or the increasing number of new HIV cases!
We can't blame the media, because television is based on what we're talking about, our interests. So maybe from now on we should talk about something bigger, something that matters more, about new ideas and the real problems out there.
