I read their timeline and found a very interesting factsheet about myth on HIV-AIDS. It’s a very important information and worth to read, not only for young people, but for all! Since most of the myth are frequently asked by people. Well, some of the questions have been asked to me as well during my outreach activity. So now, I will write down some from the factsheet here. If you didn’t know this yet, well … now you do! Condoms protect you against the transmission of HIV and other STD’s and prevent unplanned pregnancy. We should all keep safe and carry one! Sometimes it’s easier said than done. It's not easy to get condoms to some very hard-to-reach parts of the world. Right now I’m talking about some villages in Tanzania. Tanzania has a lot of health issues: HIV- patients occupy 50% of hospital beds and women have a 1 in 24 lifetime risk of dying during childbirth. I read about this on the website of Cosmopolitan magazine. ![]() In 2011 Joe Nelson launched TheyFit Condoms, the world's first custom-fit condom line. Before TheyFit Condoms, Joe worked as a trader for the famous investment bank Goldman Sachs, but after the economic crisis and the scandals of 2008 he decided to change the direction of his career. Joe said he wasn't feeling completely OK with his job anymore; after 2008 he would only say that he worked in finance, without mentioning the name of his workplace. ![]() The video I want to share with you today shows the innovative design of a condom wrapper that can be opened using only one hand. Quite cool, uh? The project, by the British designer Ben Pawle, was selected and exhibited in 2012 by The Victoria & Albert Museum in London. ![]() The new phase of the Act Against AIDS project by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is addressed to the gay and bisexual community in America. Its name is ‘Start Talking. Stop HIV' and it focuses on the importance of talking about safe sex with your sexual partner(s) before engaging an intercourse. |
