Yesterday evening, I read a guideline made by IPPF (International Planned Parenthood Federation). It’s a very enjoyable guideline for everyone to read, so I won’t miss the chance to share it to all of you.
HEALTHY, HAPPY AND HOT is a guide for young people living with HIV to help them understand their sexual rights, and live healthy, fun, happy and sexually fulfilling lives. The guide aims to give information on how young people living with HIV can increase sexual pleasure, take care of their health, practice safer sex, have children, develop strong intimate relationships and access support.
1. Practice disclosing to people you trust, this could include family members or friends. Remember though that people will not all react in the same way.
2. Speak to other young people living with HIV, or members of your support group, to learn from their experiences on different ways to disclose.
3. Consider things like the best time to tell the person. When dating, some people tell their partner when they first meet while others wait till later. Do whatever makes you the most comfortable. If you are in long-term relationship, try to find a time when your partner is calm and has time for a long conversation.
For another tips, you can get it from here: http://www.ippf.org/resource/Healthy-Happy-and-Hot-young-peoples-guide-rights We have the tips, but remember, you are the one who know best if and when to disclose your HIV status. Happy reading everyone!
