‘How are you?’ is a simple and common question that we ask someone, either because we really want to know or just out of politeness. We expect a satisfactory answer of course, but what if the answer is something we never thought of? It occurs to me that most of us have this habit called judging. Then I wonder: will you ever being polite with a HIV positive person? Or even care enough to ask ‘How are you?’ to them? Most of us might want to answer yes, but admit it, some of you are still in doubt. You know why? Because of the discrimination and stigma still surrounding people with HIV/AIDS. Let’s make a difference, not only for the world, but for you as a person too. Start with a smile and this simple question: ‘How are you today?’ because at least you show that you care. Make them happy, because it is a fact that happier people live longer.
