He is Temujin K. Lapsley, he was sentenced last Friday in Allen County after pleading guilty in December to malicious mischief involving infected bodily fluids. He also pleaded guilty to dealing methamphetamine and cocaine in his possession.
Authorities were investigating Lapsley for drug activities when they learned he's HIV-positive and had signed a "Duty to Warn" form in California in December 2013 requiring him to inform sexual partners of his HIV status.
The documents from the court stated Lapsley told police he estimated he that had sex with about 60 people, both men and women, since his HIV diagnosis.
And the worse thing is that at least six victims who were in contact with Lapsley were unaware that he's HIV-positive.
The last thing people want is to scatter the HIV virus among innocent people, so yeah it is extremely important to know our own status. To save ourselves as well as the people we love. There are people out there who have the virus but remember that we all are ourselves, we’re not HIV/AIDS. We need to stand together in order to fight HIV/AIDS, so let's make this world a better place together.
