Wrecking Ball singer Miley Cyrus has officially launched the Happy Hippie Foundation, which aims to fight the injustices faced by homeless, LGBT and vulnerable youths, by uploading the first of her #HappyHippiePresents: Backyard Sessions videos alongside Joan Jett. Cyrus, who said she was inspired by the reaction when she asked a homeless man to accept her Video of the Year trophy at the 2014 Video Music Awards and later the suicide of transgender youth Leelah Alcorn in December, aims to use the Backyard Sessions to create digital support groups for LGBT youth and their families. Well done Miley!

In a new video, ‘The Face of HIV/AIDS: Then and Now’, the writer and photographer Tim Curry makes us appreciate being born at a time when having HIV is not a death sentence.
The video was produced by HIV Equal, which is a multimedia campaign which fights HIV stigma and promotes HIV testing. We love good news, especially in the fight against AIDS. This is why we were very happy to read this blog by Dawn Averitt on the Well Project website. We hope you enjoy it too!
In many ways, one of our greatest success stories in the fight against HIV/AIDS to date has been our ability to reduce dramatically the rate of new HIV infections being passed from mother to child. On a global scale, the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) recently celebrated its one-millionth baby born HIV-free. In the United States, fewer than 200 babies were born with HIV in 2013. My own children are now 11 and nearly 13, and in most urban settings no one raises an eyebrow when they say "My Mom has HIV." I wish I could say this was universal, but it isn't. Many health care providers are not familiar enough with the information about HIV to know that HIV-positive women can choose to become pregnant, and that, with access to good prenatal care and HIV treatment, their risk of transmitting HIV to their infants is less than two percent. This is why it is so important to find a health care provider who is knowledgeable about HIV and pregnancy – they are definitely out there! And, now more than ever, there are advances in our understanding of how to prevent HIV infection between partners who are hoping to conceive. With the availability of PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis), couples who are sero-different (one is HIV-positive and the other HIV-negative) can consider using HIV treatment to protect the HIV-uninfected partner while attempting to become pregnant. Good news for US! After years of fighting for their right in the lower courts, starting from today, June 26, 2015, the US Supreme Court has legalized gay marriage nationwide. Now, all Americans can marry the people they love, no matter their gender or sexual orientation.
The holiday season is getting closer! Do you guys have any places you want to visit this year? Well, if any of you are planning to go Taipei, there's an unique condom tour, organized by the biggest condom factory in Taiwan.
Who doesn't fancy a bit of good news? Surely everyone loves it as much as we do! After confirming Cinta Laura as the first Ambassador of Indonesia Against AIDS, our fight against HIV/AIDS still continues of course, but having a video and statement from Cinta Laura is such a great start!
We need to awaken Indonesia’s young generation’s awareness about HIV/AIDS and to do that in the best possible way, we also need the help of popular celebrities and the media. And it’s starting to work! The news of Cinta Laura as our first ambassador begins to get shared, not only on both Cinta’s and our own social media, but also in the national media of Indonesia- from a celebrity tabloid website (http://www.tabloidbintang.com/articles/gaya-hidup/cantik-sehat/23439-cinta-laura-ajak-perangi-persebaran-aids-di-indonesia) to a well known entertainment news show on TV (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKw2Qz4b0b8&sns=tw). Yep, we're more than happy and grateful to achieve this! Thank you Cinta Laura and the media for your support! Anyone of you guys likes to learn a little bit of history? I personally do, because it is exciting as you will discover various new things and hidden facts.
There are numerous benefits of condoms, however only a few people know the history and origins of condoms, so let’s get to know more them! Do you know for instance that the idea of preventing the spread of sexual transmitted disease (STD) has existed since thousands of years? Concerned about the spread of new HIV infections, lawmakers in Bengkulu are working on a directive to limit the sale of condoms and other contraceptives, arguing that the availability of such items leads to higher rates of pre- and extramarital sex.
Septi Yuslinah, a member of the provincial legislature, said that 600 people are currently known to live with HIV or AIDS in Bengkulu and that this number is still rising. Extramarital sex and drug abuse are the main factors behind the spread of HIV, she said. In order the halt the deadly virus, the Bengkulu legislative council (DPRD) is currently drafting a bill that would limit the sale of contraceptives to pharmacies and other stores licensed to sell medicines. The 28th SEA GAMES were held in Singapore from 5-16 June, 2015. Indonesia sent their athletes for 40 sport disciplines to the SEA GAMES. In this bi- annual event, Southeast Asia's countries compete for medals as well as demonstrate the greatness of their athletes. This year, Indonesia targeted to get into the Top 3 countries by the number of gold medals won. In the end, Indonesia only got 47 gold medals and ended in the Top 5. And sadly, the soccer team, which was trusted to win the games, lost.
