We regularly hear from users of AVERT.org who tell us they are scared about HIV, taking a test, what it means to be positive, and what they fear others will think. Stand Up to HIV empowers people with the facts about these issues to help them make informed decisions. With this campaign we want to take action to help people protect their health and drive down new infections.
HIV stigma and fear surrounding the virus remain one of the biggest reasons why people are not testing for HIV. Globally, 46% of people living with HIV are still unaware of their status. This World AIDS Day, we are launching Stand Up to HIV, a campaign to help people overcome their worries and test for HIV.
