The reason behind this agreement, according to Saleh, is that LGBT people are not in accordance with the customs and habits of the people of Indonesia. LGBT people are regarded as something unusual and this violates some fundamental principles in the life of society, nation and state.
It's sad that our LGBT friends in Indonesia still have difficulties to get recognition and we don’t see how being gay ‘violates’ anything, except prejudices. Everybody might be different in our eyes, but in God’s eyes, we are all the same. And besides that: being different is a good thing- how boring would life be if everybody looked, acted and thought the same way?
