"Transmission of HIV through public transport is not the issue, please don't misunderstand us. We do the campaign on public transportation," saidSigit Priohutomo, Director of Communicable Disease Control from the Ministry of Health.
Due to high mobility, continued Sigit, persons - especially men- sometimes have risky sexual relationships, which allows the HIV virus to be transmitted.
"It doesn't mean that the transmission occurred during public transportation, but when people arrive at their destination, there are tendencies of risky behavior," he said.
Glad that is cleared up then!
One of the stars in the campaign is 3M: Man, Mobile, with Money. Men who are traveling, with money to spend.... That can be risky.
Well, at least they don't put out the wrong information about HIV/AIDS again, like happened a few weeks ago. Safe travels everybody!
